Taking a school project in Shenzhen as a case, the technical difficulties related to nearly zero energy buildings are analysed, and multiple operation, maintenance, and science popularization measures are proposed. The classrooms with split air conditioners are equipped with centralized outdoor air systems. It is confirmed that the energy recovery device is not economical in Shenzhen, and the outdoor air system does not need it with the simulation calculation by the EnergyPlus software. The manual for the operation and management of nearly zero energy buildings and the proposal for individual energy conservation and emission reduction behavior of teachers and students are compiled, to promote the knowledge popularization in conjunction with the curriculum and advocate for thrifty behavior among teachers and students.
